Task Approval Settings

When the Task Approval setting is enabled for your account, tasks will need to be manually approved before it is completed. This feature gives your task managers the ability to re-open a task when it has a Pending Approval status by re-engaging with a Provider who has completed their work, adding new providers to the task, or making task overview edits. This provides your organization with a better sense of task status and the flexibility to re-open a task if necessary


The Organization Owner will need to enable this feature from the organization settings under Projects & Tasks.


Under the Tasks tab, locate Tasks must be approved before completion, and toggle this feature on.


Note: Enabling this will automatically approve any existing completed tasks in your account



When enabled, any task assignment that a Provider has requested to be completed and is then approved by the task manager will change the task status from In Progress to Pending Approval instead of directly to a Complete status. 



The task list can be filtered by this new status:




Tasks that are “Pending Approval” will then have an “Approve and complete” option for the task owner or task managers:




Re-opening Tasks


An approved and completed task can be re-opened by:

  • Adding a new provider to the task. This will set the task status to Pending


  • Re-opening a Provider’s completed task assignment. This will set the task status to In progress
